Here at SOS we believe that every individual can make a difference and help to conserve shark populations for future generations. That is why in 2011 SOS founder, Ryan Kempster, did his part for shark conservation by running the Perth City to Surf Half Marathon on August 28th 2011. He completed the half marathon in the awesome time of 1hr 42 mins. Ryan collected money for his efforts via The Australian Anti Shark Finning Alliance (TAASFA) 'Shark Wall'.
The TAASFA 'Shark Wall' is building a barrier against the shark finning industry in Australia and around the world. Advertising contribution made to the ‘Shark Wall’ helped to develop the TAASFA restaurant accreditation program, which recognises and encourages restaurants to be shark fin free. Money was also used to develop TAASFA's 'Shark School' initiative allowing them to get into schools and promote shark conservation amongst the next generation.
Please encourage your friends and family to join the SOS Facebook page to learn more about shark conservation and keep up to date with future SOS campaigns.
